Notes for WILLIAM GREGG:
Willaim Gregg Was a Miller and on Frampton road in Fallsbury Twp Licking County Ohio where he had his mill and a coverd bridge was named Gregg's Bridge, which stood on the site until the late 50's when some teenage vandals decided to burn it. however it was restored and repaired and the covered bridge stands there today and it is listed in the covered bridges of Ohio by Chalmbers
Pancost a historical writer. I have a picture of this bridge before it was burned. and traveled across it everyday on the bus eroute to the High School in Coshocton Co Ohio. It is also mentioned in a book by Howard Horn of Bladensburg Ohio, who was another historical writer. I also have a picture of
this William Gregg and his wife Mary Jane Hull Gregg. a photo taken of a large
painted portrait, in possesion of Jean Young Smith. 1988.
from a family history compiled by Freda Gregg July 1982 the following,
Because the McGregor's would not bow to the religion in Scotland, They escaped to Wales and from there they came to America to avoid Punishment, some changed their names to Gregg and some to Kreig. Three Gregg brother,s came to Licking County Ohio from Virginia, One brother's name was Aaron, another was Mahlon, who had a son William H. Gregg, who run a Grist Mill built in 1840 in Fallsbury Twp Licking County Ohio and also a covered bridge built in 1882 over the Wakatomika River and was called the Gregg's Bridge. Families traveled to this spot in Fallsbury Twp traveling the Wakatomika Creek and the old warriors path from Fort Pitt. there has been a plaque placed at this bridge since 1969 in
honor of William Gregg, as a historical spot.in Ohio. Licking County road No 201 twisting east-northeastwardly from Ohio 586, joins the Wakatomika Creek at the former site of Gregg's Burr Flour Mill, where Licking County covered bridge 6 is still in use daily.

John Hull served in the Civil War. Mustered in May 2, 1864, Co E, 135th Ohio National Guard, taken prisoner at North Mtn, VA while guarding the railroad station. He was imprisoned at Andersonville and at Charleston, SC. IN Charleston he was kept between the federal gunboats and the city in order to keep the federal army from bombarding the bay. He was paroled at Goldsboro SC. (from the History of Hickory, Polk, Dade and Barton Co, 1889, page 907.)Was a wagoneer.
