In 1950 Gillmur Hiett wrote: “I had an uncle Henry Hiett, I think he went to Los Angeles about 1873, and he had teo children Robert and Feby.” (R113).

Newspaper clipping pasted over Family Records Page of Hiett Bible Hiett: Died in Riverside, San Bernardino Co., Calif 15 Aug 1880 Jane wife of H.J. Hiett aged 38 years.
Calif 8 Oct 1905. In early manhood he went to Iowa, where he married Miss Jane Hall in 1859. In 1873 they came to Calif and he has resided in this state ever since, his wife having died some years ago. Four children were born to Mr and Mrs Hiett, three of whom survived their father, Mr. R.H. Hiett of Azusa, Mrs. Wm. Romer of Los Angeles and Mrs John Fry of Riverside.
Mr. Hiett was converted in early childhhood and joined the Methodist Church at the age of twenty years. He has always been a faithful supporter and a regular attendant of the church of his choice. He was found in his place in Christian work until a few weeks before his death, when weakness compelled him to remain death and now he is reaping the rewards of the Christian.
The Funeral was held in Los Angeles and the remains were interred in Riverside, Calif.
