                             OBITUARY
                   Death of Mrs. Amanda Hays.
Mrs. Amanda Hays, wife of the late Jasper J. Hays, of Grand River township, died of consumption, on Monday April 22d, 1889, aged 36 years.  Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 11 o'clock, at the Grand River Baptist Church, conducted by Eld. J.C. Poe.  A large number of friends and neighbors attended the funeral and sympathized with the orphan children and bereaved relatives.  The remains were laid to rest by the side of her late husband, who had been called away only a few months ago.  The four children the eldest 14 years of age and the youngest 3 years old, are orphans indeed, father and mother both gone.  Their cup of deepest sorrow, as they grow older, will be sweetened by the blessed memories left them by a kind father and a Christian mother.
