  Rev. G. A. Bartlett (married a Pickens)
I'm looking for information on my great grandfather. The 1899 edition of the
Baptist Ministerial Directory of Baptist Churchs lists his place of birth as
Sevier Co. TN. He married Margaret Pickens from Swannana, N.C. date unknown. For
a while they lived in GA, then moved to Texas. They had 6 children: Laura Maude,
John Everette, Clifford A., Mary Ethel, Robert Malcolm, and William Carey.
I do not have date or place of death, but understand that he may have returned
to GA after Margaret's death and remarried.
Any information will be appreciated.

I am also a descendant of Moses Bowen and Rebecca Rees through their son
Henry. Did John and Henry Bowen have other brothers or sisters? How is Rees
Bowen related to John and Henry?

Most sources says that only 1 child has been identified for Moses and Rebecca
Bowen: John, who married Lily McIlhaney. I have seen a source of the Internet
who says that Henry, b. 1679 in Chester Co., PA is also a son. But Moses did not
come to PA until 1698.
This Henry m. Jane Carter and moved to Frederick, VA.
Supposedly Moses was b. in 1674 in Carmarthin, Wales and m. in 1702 in Bucks,
PA and Rebecca Reese was b. 1676. John was b. 1696.
The only place I have seen Henry as the son of Moses is at the Family Tree
Maker site under the Ancestors of Bryan Scott Grant at
http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/g/r/a/Scott--Grant/GENE0001-0012.html
John and Lily did have a son Henry b. 1752 who m. Ann Cunningham.
In the book, "In the Sweet By and By" by Mary Clghlan White, Henry Sr.  is
mentioned briefly as a possible son of Moses, no reference given.
The Reece Bowen mentioned above is the son of John and Lily.
This muddies the water for you.
I descend from Moses -> John -> Robert -> Reece -> Christopher -> Emily and down
4 more generations.

I agree with Betty. I descend from the sister of Rees, Jean Bowen married to
Joseph Looney. My Bowen research shows the will of Lillie mentioning son Rees.
If anyone wants info on the Looney tie-in, give me a ring. Bob Bailey
