John George TETER Sr.

    Served as a Sergeant in Co. Byrds Regiment during the French and Indian War in 1761 (Sumers History of Southwest Virginia, p.855) and was later shown in a list of Ensigns of the mlitary officers of Washington Co. 1777-1780 (ibidp 864).
    Baptism: April 26, 1739, church of the Brethren (German Baptist)
    Burial: Teeter Family Cemetery (tombstone is located in DAR section of   the Frankfort Cemertary, Frankfort, KY for historical preservation)
    Census: 1810, George Sr., Jr., William, Samuel, and Parris in Garrard Co. KY.
    Lived: Near present day Danville, KY.
    LWT: August 1815, August court 1815, Garrard Co. KY.
    Serverd: 1777, Listed as Ensign, Washington Co. VA. milita
Signed: 1789, Petition protesting separation of KY from VA.
    Wounded: 1779, By Indians while moving through Cumberland Mountains to new home in KY district.

Lewis Craig TETER

He was named for the family with whom George Sr. and familymhad spent the first winter upon moving to what later became Kentucky in 1781/82("The Kentucky Teeter Family", Howard Glen Teter, Patsyu Teter Benton and Howard Curry Teter)
