Historical Notes:
James A. Williams and his wife Elizabeth moved their family from Rock Creek to
the top of a mountain in Boone County, which he named "Williams Mountain," in
honor of the family. James was referred to as "Big Jim" and sometimes as "Big
Dad". He and many of his descendants are buried in the Williams Cemetery,
located on the mountain.
