Historical Notes:
(1) Giles Webb resided at Chucatuck, on the boundary of Isle of Wight and
Nansemond counties. He was a Burgess from Nansemond County in 1658, 1659, and
1660. Since the records of Nansemond County have been lost or destroyed very
little else is known about his life, not has a will been found.
Cause of death-heart attack.

(1) Francis Barker was especially active in civic affairs of the colony of
Plymouth. In 1686 he was appointed to treat with Scituate Massachusetts, about
the division of a tract of land in dispute with Duxbury. He was a deputy to
the General Court at Plymouth in 1686, 1694, 1701, 1703, he was Selectman of
Duxbury in 1685-86, was Constable in 1689. He was commissioned an ensign on
October 2nd, 1689. He built and operated the first iron furnace in America in
1702, in 1713 he had gained sufficient wealth to rank as "Gentleman."
