Nathaniel BURWELL

(1) Nathaniel Burwell was educated at William and Mary College, and in 1772 won
the Boutetourt medal for proficiency in mathematics, which was given by Lord
Boutetourt, Governor of Virginia.  He was a liberal supporter of the Episcopal
Church, and gave the land upon which the old chapel of Cunningham Parish is
built.
