(1) Edward Wyatt called his estate "Boxley" after the old Parish in Kent
England, where his father was vicar for so many years. Another of the
ancestral homes was "Old Upton" both of these old estates have been for
generations homes of the Wyatts. He received patents for lands in Gloucester
County in 1662, and in Middle Plantation in 1663.He was awarded land by Capt John West,
[brother of Lord Delaware West], Capt Wm. Brocas, [a great traveler],and
George Ludlow. In 1645 he was administrator on the estate of JohnClark, and
in 1652 he lived Middle Plantation (Williamsburg).

Historical Notes
(1) George Wyatt was born in James City County Virginia, he returned to England in 1625 with his parents, and was reared and educated there. He returned in his youth to his native land, and was one of the early settlers of Middle Plantation. He patented lands at Williamsburg in 1642. He was a "cooper" by trade, and was a staunch supporter of the Established Church.

(1) Conquest Wyatt patented lands on Hoccadie's Creek, near his old plantation
in 1672. He was an influential citizen in the affairs of Church and State. He
was a Vestryman of Petesworth Parish in 1690, and High Sheriff of Gloucester
County in 1705, and Colonel of the Militia in 1698.
