Airy in 1813.  They had been in Brunswick Co., VA, so likely he would be perhaps the first buried there.Died in the War in 1814!Children of William Taylor and Susannah Singleton are:  John Taylor, Sterling Taylor, Frances Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Thomas Taylor (Ridge Tom), William Taylor, Susan Taylor, and Jones Taylor.

John's will was proved on 4 Aug 1836.  Birth also give as abt 1832.

From the SURRY COUNTY HERITAGE BOOK. VOL I. p. 165:  John Haymore was the patriarch of the Haymore familly in Surry County, NC. He came to Surry Co. in 1819.  He came from Pittsylvania Co. VA, where he and his wife, Jane White, and their grown children had settled in 1809.  He had previously lived in Brunswick Co. where his children were born.  Prior to lBrunswick he lived in Lunenburg Co.  He was probablly born in Dinwiddie Co.  He is the son of William Haymore who patented land in Brunswick Co. in 1760.  William is traceable to Essex Co.  John came late in life to Surry Co.  He was at that time married to his second wife Rebecca McGee (Magee).  They apparently were led to Surry Co. by their son DAniel  (Sr.) who was the first of the familly to purchase land there in 1816.  Joh purchased 300 acres of land in 1819 adjacent to Daniel's, on Stoney Creek in Westfield.
John was a farmer, as were his children.  He hied in Surry Co.  in 1825, six years after his arrival.  His will did not name his children, but upon the subsequent settlement of his lproperty, his surviving children were named
The Haymore family has now spread far beyond Surry, Co.NC and Pittsylvania Co. VA.  Descendents can be found today in AZ, CA, GA, MO, UT and many other states.  Haymore family members married into many other Surry Co. families and the list includes Hiatt, Jessup, Inman, Lawrence, lShort, Jackson, Cook, Hunter, Taylor, Love Harris, Sutphin, Johnson, Hall Simmons, Collins and Atkins.  A new book on the Haymore's and thier associated families has been compiled with the dedicated help of many embers of the extended family.  It was compiled by Phillip Harris.  Book will be availabel for public use at the Surry Co. Community College Library and at the Mt. Airy Public Library.

Thomas TAYLOR III

Chris says that Thomas was born in Lunenburg Co., Virginia., and that he was born in 1750.?
!  Thomas Taylor (III) was mentioned first in the will left by his father, Thomas Taylor (II) who married Penelope Goodwyn about 1728 in Surry County, Virginia. Thomas Taylor (II) will was dated 24 Oct 1772 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. (See Will Book #1, pp. 140-143.)  Thomas Taylor (II) was bequeathed three Negro slaves and 400 acres of land lying on the branch of Jenota Creek and the head branches of Woolspilt Fork of Flatt Creek.

Alice Pricilla LITTLE

Some real problem here!!  Birth and death dates are inconsistant with marriage and birth of children....also shows marriage and death during other marriage...... In the IGI there is a reference to Priscilla Little which
might be this person.  Some records show her as the wife of Thomas Jr. , that would make her the mother of Thomas III and some records have some of her children as children of Thomas Jr. , but with this birthdate...these could not be her children..

Thomas TAYLOR II

Records show he lived in Amelia Co. and later went to Mecklenburg Co. both in Virginia.  Records were in 1754.

Chris says that Thomas Sr. was born on 1718

Penelope GOODWYN

This sheet obtained from Rela C. Depew.  She got this sheet from (Twila T. Hardmand) 2089 St. Christopher Dr., Lexington, Ky.  Her source is Mecklenburg Co., Va. records.  She indicates that the birth dates she is not sure of, also the marriage date and name of husband of #8 Susanna.

Chris states that Penelope was born on 1711 & died 1780.

James TAYLOR Sr.

Not mentioned in his Father's 24 Oct 1772 will...
