Hays Hiatt returned from a visit in Kansas the last of the week, and he tells us during his stay there he captured a big blue herring which is very rarely seen in that part of the country.  It was sent to Alta Vista, Kan. to be mounted and will be sent to the Gallatin Trust Bank in Gallatin in the near future, and Hays says if we don't believe his statement is true, just call at the bank soon and Harley Harrah will be glad to show it to anyone.


Walter S. HIATT Sr.

    Walter Hiatt and Miss Essie Hays were marreid on Sunday the 25th, at the home of Wlater Hays.  Mr. Hiatt is from Nebraska.

              Walter S. Hiatt
    Walter S. HIATT was born September the twenty first, 1876, in Reno Co., Kansas.  Was marreid to Miss Essie Hays, at Jameson, MO; december 25th, 1914.  To this union, one child was vorn, who with the wife, survies the deceased, James Hays.
    He wa an honest industrious upright citizen, a dutiful hustband nad kind and loving parent.  He was laways inerested in the betterment of his community nd took an active part in all such movements.
    He leaves three brothers to mourn his loss, O. L. Hiatt, of Oiney Springs, Colorado, A. B. Hiatt, Palasades, NE and Jack HIATT who is in the country's service and now on his way to France.
    Walter was one of the supporters of the dairy movement, a progressive farmer in every sense of the word.  The loss of his activies through his sudden demise will be greatly missed. The families loss is also the communities loss.
    Internment was made, Saturday, in the Campo Cemetery.
