John Wilson SCOTT III

   John W. Scott was born in Tenn. and married Mahala Atherton in 1844, was
the son of John and Nancy Keith.  Mary was a niece of Nancy Keith Scott.
   From a faded note from Opal Lousin, see pg. 611 of Portraits ?Bing Album
1891.  From Tenn. to Southern Ill. in 1827, Jefferson Co. then to Waynesville.

   Had 7 sons and 3 daughters, 5 lived to maturity. Report in Bio. sketch
of John W. Scott, pg. 612, 1891 of DeWitt Co., Ill. says that the maiden name
of Mahala was Artherton-Atherton, not Horton, and that they were married in 1844.
