b. 12 October 1792, Va.; d. 1 March 1875, Fremont, Sandusky Co., Ohio; m. in Va., c1819, to LYDIA MULNIX; b. 19 October 1798; d. 10 February 1890. Moved from Va., to Seneca Co., Ohio; returned to Jefferson Co., Va., 1839; later to Sandusky Co., Ohio.

Tradition: George Hiett's ancestors came from England in 1734 and took possession of a large farm in the Shenandoah Valley, which was the home of the family for over 120 years.

George Hiett was disowned, 2-4mo-1819, by Hopewell Mo. Mtg., Frederick Co., Va., for marriage contrary to discipline.

Locke; b. 23 October 1774, Berkeley Co., Va.; d. 14 June 1847, Jefferson Co., Va. (John Hiett and Mary Locke were second cousins -- editor.)

From Bible of John Hiett: John Hiett, son of William and Sarah Hiett, was born January the 31st, A. D. 1767. On January 12, 1792, married Mary Lock, daughter of George and Sarah Lock. She was born October the 23rd, A. D. 1774, and died on the 14 of June, 1847. John Hiett died "on the 25th day of the first month, A. D. 1824, aged 56 years, 11 months and 25 days." (His Bible names the 12 children listed above, and gives their dates of birth -- editor.)  (R2).

Hopewell Mo. Mtg., Frederick Co., Va.:
4-6mo-1798 - John Hiatt and Mary his wife request to be joined to Friends, Abel Walker, Joseph Hackney and John McPherson are appointed to visit them, with women Friends.
2-7mo-1798 - The committee in the case of John and Mary Hiatt, his wife, reported they paid them a visit and think it best that their request be discontinued at present, which this meeting concurs, leaving them in care of committee.

6-1mo-1800 - The committee in the case of John and Mary Hiatt, his wife, reported they in company with women Friends have paid them a visit and are easy that their request be granted, which the meeting approves.

3-3mo-1806 - John and Mary Hiatt request that their 3 minor children, George, Mary and Elizabeth be received into membership which request was agreed. (R48).

John Hiett and Mary Locke were second cousins, i.e., their grandfathers were brothers.

Had a date of birth, 24 Apr 1801 but that cannot be correct, something is mixed up, is this a son or are the dates wrong? Is Joseph and Jesse mixed up and Joseph is the son of Jesse (or Joseph as also given?).
