Samuel Blackburn BEALS

   According to the Beals Family records by Mayme and Annis Bales, Samuel was born in Clinton Co., Ohio instead of Randolph Co., Ind.

John R. BARKER

   D/o Charles Barker and Rachel Rittenhouse.
   John R. Barker married second Hannah T. Mayo b. 23 Nov 1855 d. 5 Jul 1890
burial Reitenour Cem. Ridgeville, Randolph Co., Ind. married third Jane Bark.

   Jay Co. History 1982  John R. Barker -

   John R. b. 1847 and Susannah Montgomery b. 1848 were married June 25, 1868.   John R. was the son of Charles and Rachel Rittenhouse Barker.  He had been born near Stone Station, Randolph Co., Ind. where the family lived and farmed.  The children of John and Rachel (as in book but it should say John and Susannah) were Melvina Patience 1869-1888, but they also had a son William Henry Barker, 1875.  Rachel A. married Lewis Miller in 1892.  Lewis was the son of John and Hannah Puterbaugh Miller.  They lived near New Pittsburg, Jay Co., IN on a farm.  They were the parents of 2 sons, John W. died in infancy and Frederick died at 6 months, Rachel died in 1894.
   Lewis then married Rachel's cousin, Rosa Baker McCammon who had been
widowed earlier.
   There's more in the book but when I copied this I didn't have time to
finish.  If you want it maybe you can look it up or let me know and if I get to look up the book I'll copy it.
   I also found this in the same book -
   William Henry Barker, b. Jan 18, 1875 was the son of John R. and Susannah
Montgomery Barker of near Winchester, Ind.  He married Cora A. Coby of
Saratoga, Ind. on Feb 16, 1901.  She was born Sept 14, 1878.  They moved to
Redkey, Ind. in 1908, where they resided until his death.  They made a home for this sister and niece, Ida and Alice C. Clark until Ida's marriage.  He had no children of his own.  William Henry worked as a watchman on the Pennsylvannia R.R. near the Redkey school for years, also he worked on Lin Tile Mills and the Canning Co.  In later life he worked on the Union Traction Line.  He was a member of the United Brethren Church, the Redmen and the Odd Fellows Lodges.  He died in March 21, 1952.
