Letter Mimi (Ruth V) wrote to her married sister Noel Arrington (Thurm an)

Thursday September 29, 1927
Dearest Noel and Joseph Jr.,
As you know honey, I can't come to see you so I'll write, of course Jo seph you can't read, sweetheart, but maybe you can pursuade your mothe r to read it to you, also, you reckon? Are you still getting fatter, S onny, or aren't they feeding you well. If there not just come down to your Auntie Ruth's hospital, I've got a "dinger", no foolin'. I've onl y got to patiences tho', your Grandpa George and your Step-Grandma Gra ce, understand?   Yes, well I tho't you would. So you just pack your h at box and come asailin' How are you Noel? I know just what you'll say , "Just fine and I want to go home". Now isn't that right.? Say honey about those announcements, I mailed them last night, (that's the firs t time I've been off the hospital)and I tho't of Edith Wolcott. Do yo u or Don't you know her address? I think she'd be kinda tickled to hea r, Don't you, Joseph? Don't you go to sleep you little angel while you 're reading this. I just got through writing to Gaynell, useless I sup pose, for "Sug" or do you know Sug.   Mrs Shack in other words will ke ep her well posted on all incoming events. You knew they were engaged didn't you--no? Well they are. I suppose it will be real soon, so get ready to come to the shower. Ha! I went to the Bridge Party last nigh t . I got Roll and Muriel to stay with the Folks. And after I came hom e I sat up all night. Till 4 o'clock this morning. Dad was pretty sick . Not serious but needed somebody to wait on him. I'll sure be glad wh en they get well. Grace is getting along awfully slow, seems to me. I really think Beal is afraid of Typhoid. Wouldn't that be terrible? Jos eph, doll, I wouldn't get to see you till you were wearing no. 9's the n ha! Well I guess, Joseph, its about time you went back to your littl e white bed eh? So nighty nite, and be a good boy. Kiss him for me Noe l. You know I never have, but I bet a farm I do the next time, hygien e or not hygiene. So pucker up Joseph, your Auntie's coming. Soon I ho pe. With Lots of Kisses, .
