He was the 10th child of 13...He ran away from home before his 18th birthday, joined the army and in the Civil War. His son Augustus joined the Mormons and went with an Elder to Utah obtained work, saved enough money to get his parents, brothers and sisters to Utah...they went by train in 1889 and settled in Kaysville.
