March 1, 1736.  William x Tapp of St. Mark's Par., Orance Co. planter, and Christian, his wife, to George Nix of St. Geo. Par., Spts. Co. 20 lbs. ster. 175 a. in St. Geo. Par., Spts. William Tapp.  Will ofwilliam Tapp of Culpeper Co7nty dated 27 June 1780.  Proven 17 Jan 1796. Legatees:  Wife Christian Tapp.  Sons: Vincent Tapp, William Tapp, Lewis Tapp, Grandson William Tapp, son of Vincent Tapp. Dau. Ann Cunninghame, wife of john Cunninghame. Dau. Alice Graham, wife of John Graham, Dau. Elizabeth Green. Dau. Sarah Jett, wife of John Jett. William Yates, son of Mary Yates, dec'd.

Executors; Son Vincent Tapp, James Jett.
Wit.: Thomas Hopper, Jacob Wall, Ann Walle.
Disannulled in a codicil, the bequest to William Yates. 10 Sept 1789.
Wit.: Moses Tapp, Sias Tapp.
James Jett refused to act as executor.

Elizabeth TAPP

Elizabeth Tap/Tapp purchased land in Spotsylvania County, Virginia on 24 August 1722.  Deed recorded 4 Sep 1722. Land purchased from Francis Thornton and Mary his wife of Wssex Co. and Anthony Thornton and Mary his wife of Stafford Co.  Paid 500 lbs. of tobacco for 450 acres "on ye ridge that lies between ye branches Massaponnax and the branches of Mattapony river" part of a tract granted Francis and Anthony Thornton by Patent April 19, 1720.  Witness: Francis Conway and Will. Strother.

Oct. 21, 1724, Elizabeth x Tap of St. Geo. Par., Spts. Co., Va., widow, to my two sons, William Tap and Vincent Tap, and my daughter, Charity Wood, wife of Bartholomew wood, all of the said parish and County.  40 lbs. Ster. To my son Wm. Tap the plantation whereon I now live with 175 a. adjoining, in St. Geo Par., Spts. Co. To my son, Vincent Tap, 175 a. of land St. Geo Par., Spts. Co. To my daughter, Charity Wood, 100 A. of land in the sd. parish and county - all the above mentioned land purchased by me of Francis Thornton and Mary, his wife; and Anthony Thornton and Winifred, his wife, as by deeds dated Aug. 5, 1722. Witness:  Moseley Battaley, Richard Johnson, James Williams. Rec. Nov. 3, 1724.  Deed Book A, 1722-1729, Spotsylvania County, Virginia.
