Notes: THE PARIS NEWS, 28 Jun 1965: 'Mrs. Gaither O. Dunagan, 72, of Blossom, died Monday at 10 p.m. in McCuistion Hospital here after being ill some time. The family home in Paris formerly was at 1055 Clarksville St. The funeral, Wednesday at 4 p.m., will be held at Fry and Gibbs funeral home, where the family will receive friends Tuesday between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Burial is arranged in Evergreen Cemetery here. The former Bertha Elizabeth Lenoir, daughter of the F. M. and Jennie L. (Marshall) Lenoir, Mrs. Dunagan was born 15 Jun 1892, at Blossom, where she attended school. She was married in November, 1913, to the late Mr. Dunagan, whose death occurred in September, 1962. During long residence in Paris, she was active as a member of Central Presbyterian Church, and in social circles here. She leaves these sons, F. M. (Marion) Dunagan, Paris, James A. Dunagan, Blossom, and David L. Dunagan, Brownsville; also six grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Lenoir of DeKalb.' *On the same stone with Gaither O. Dunagan. Tombstone is inscribed, 'Bertha L. Dunagan.'
Melvin C. DUNAGAN, 71, of Austin died Wednsday, Dec. 23, 1998. Mr. Dunagin was a resident of Austin for 25 years and a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. For 32 years he was a meteroloigist with the National Weather Service.
Survivors included his wife, LaRue Dunagin; son Vernon Dunagin; Daughter, Debbie Jackson; daughter in law, Fran Dunagin, all of Austin; brother, M. O. Dunagin, of Littlefield, TX; sister, Jane Sossoman of Seattle, WA. and five gr. children.
Funeral services will be held 2:00p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Interment will be in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks.
