Leonard was the son of Jessie Lee NEWLAND and James Oscar COOPER. He was a farmer at the time of his marriage, settling in the Faxon community of Comanche Co., OK. Soon after his marriage he dedicatated his life to "Jesus Christ" and entered the Ministry as a part time Preacher and Pastor. Later he was Ordained as a Minister in the "Church Of GOD" preaching and Pastoring in numerous churches of that denomination arround the state of OK. and at the same time working as a carpenter. His ocupation as a carpenter led him into constructing church buildings for his Church in the community of his assignment. During WW II he moved to Ada, OK., but later removing to CA. where he Pastored a church in the Los Angeles area, returning to Ada, OK. when the war was over. He only stayed in Ada a few years before taking a church in Tacoma, WA., then to Bakersfield, CA. before returning to OK., settling in Lindsay, OK. The family remaind in Lindsay a short time before he removed to a farm 12 miles east of Ada where he took up cattle ranching along with pastoring the Owl Creek Church. This was his last move, as he had come to this area to stay and do his work for "Jesus". Leonard and Beulah had been on the move all their lives preaching and pastoring in small churches through the western part of the U.S.A. Their life on the farm near Ada was peacfeful and their church was small but their work was hard and never ending. Leonard loved his work as a Minister/Rancher and did both until his last day, dying in his sleep in the place he loved.
Cranford and Viola were farmers in the Faxon, OK. area. During the early 1940's the family had a farm near Vanoss, OK., but removed back to Faxon where Cranford worked driving a school bus in the Faxon school district. Cranford was the son of Minnie Alice DURANT and Wafford Tatum ROTHELL.
