Edward (Ned) PEREGOY

The Peregoy family name was changed to Pedigo.

IMMIGRATION: French descent.


Levi PEDIGO

Died in 1813 or August 21, 1816.

Dudley RICHARDSON

COMMENT: Information concerning the children of this family is questionable.  Information comes from the will of John ANDERSON of Hanover County, VA.

The will was witnessed April 19, 1800 and proven in court November 19, 1800 and December 17, 1800.

John WATKINS

John Watkins left England in April, 1832 and arrived in Albany, New York in May.  He was aboard the sailing vessel "Vepel".

He was a butcher by trade.

John and Mariah moved to Michigan in 1846.

Both John and Maria became Christians and joined the Protestant Methodist Church in 1867.

Later, they moved to Corey, MI.

He and Mariah were reported to have 24 grandchildren, but only four are accounted for.  There were reported to be 15 great-grandchildren, but only three are accounted for.


Mariah SMITH

Mariah Smith came from a family of 12, eight of whom were still living
at the time of Mariah's death.

She was the mother of six children, three boys and three girls.  Her
daughter, Anna M. Watkins, died in 1868.  The other children were
living at the time Mariah died.

Mariah had 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She died in her sleep of an apparent heart attack.  Her body was
discovered by her granddaughter.

In 1850, Mariah's brother, Abel J., was living with her and John
Watkins. Abel was 18.
