Was touring with his Siamese twin father, Chang, when the Civil War broke out. He volunteered when he was 18, 1 Apr 1863 at Wythe County, VA. Active until taken prisoner at Moorefield, W VA 7 Aug 1864 and was a POW at Camp Chase and was hospitalized there for variola. Exchanged 4 Mar 1865, his description was recorded as 5' 8" tall, brown eyes, dark hair.
