Birth: unknown Death: 1829Stark CountyOhio, USA NOTE: Simon Shook signed with an X*****************************Simon Shook Will Husband of Barbara October 29, 1829I Simon Shook of Stark County do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following to wit. 1st: I give and bequeath to my wife Barbara one horse, live cow, twelve sheep, the farm wagon, the windmill, one plow, one harrow and two sets of horse gear and all my household and Kitchen Juncture.2nd: I give and bequeath to {MY SON JOHN} one horse and one cow.3rd: After paying my just debts and funeral expensed the rest of my personal estate is to be divided as follows: My wife Barbara is to have 1/3rd and the residue to be equally divided among all my children on these legal representatives.4th: It is my will and pleasure that my wife Barbara shall have this as of my farm during her natural life and after her death it is to be sold by my Executors it in such time and place in such manner and for such price as they may think proper; and the price of it is to be {divided as follows,}
1st: my daughters JUDITH, LIDIA, ELIZABETH as each to have the price of a cow and bed and the residue is to be divided equally among all my children on this legal representatives (including the said Judith, Lidia, and Elizabeth).Lastly I appoint my wife Barbara Executor and my sons:: Simon Shook & Solomon Shook Executors of this my last will and testament making all former wills by me undo. As the April Term 1830 of the Court of Common Pleas for Stark County also the forgoing Will of Simon Shook being brought into court John Augustine one of the forgoing subscribing witness to said will being called came into court and being sworn in open court appeared and said that he saw the testator subscribe the said will that subscribed the said will as a witness in the premises of said testator that this said testator at time of subscribing the said will was of same mind and memory- of full age and under nor legal restraint at the same time appeared James Hewitt the other subscribing witness to said will and being sworn saith the like and the Court being satisfied that with and met the same to record
