Mr. Ricky Dean Linville, 52, of Dobson, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home after an extended illness. He was born in Surry County on Jan. 10, 1958, to the late Berry Odell and Hattie Montgomery Linville. Mr. Linville was a self-employed installer for R& L Hardwood Flooring and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years; a daughter and son-in-law; a son and daughter-in-law; six grandchildren; two sisters; a brother; and an ex-daughter-in-law. In addition to his parents, Mr. Linville was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Adriana Marie Reyes. There will be no formal services at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Woltz Hospice Home; the second floor Nursing Staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, Juanita Castillo of NFTA for her fundraising and the aids of Carolina Select for all their loving, compassionate care during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, make memorial contributions to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27107. Hattie Montgomery Linville, 84, of Dobson, N.C., died Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at her home.
A Patrick County native, she was a daughter of the late Mack and Lona Marshall Montgomery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Berry Odell Linville; a half-sister, a brother and two grandchildren. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two daughters, Reba Benson of Advance, N.C., and Juanita Stanley of Dobson; two sons, Mack Odell Edwards Linville of Greensboro, N.C., and Ricky Linville of Dobson; two brothers, Ernest Lee Montgomery of Pilot Mountain, N.C., and Charlie Montgomery of Asheboro, N.C.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday at the Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson by the Revs. Timmy Joe Jenkins and Bill Jenkins. Burial was in Doe Run Church cemetery in Ararat. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1326 N.
