ALENE "BABE" VEVA (GEHRKE) COURSE-VAN DE MARK
The oldest child born to Emil Albert and Stella Veva [Pressnell] Gehrke on January 19, 1920 went to be with her Lord and Messiah on April 25, 2004, at Central Washington Hospital at 84 years 3 months of age. She is survived by her son William H. ''Bill'' Course, Jr. and his wife Vivian of Wenatchee; four grandchildren; Annette K. Davis of Wenatchee, Michael A Course of Bellingham, Robert H. Course of Wenatchee, and Tamie Kirk [Wayne] of Rock Island. Two great-grandchildren, William ''Bo" Davis and Cristina Davis of Wenatchee, One sister Elsie "Shine" Thoren [Melvin] of Mansfield, Washington, Two sister in laws, Jo Gehrke of Asotin and Bonita Course [Albert} of Des Moines, Washington. Four step children; Sharlene Bowes[Lou] Corulli, Hohn Van De Mark {Helen} of San Diego, CA Tom Van De Mark of Seattle, Yvonne [Ray] Viall of Vancouver, Washington. Also numerous step grandchildren.
Her childhood was spent in Ponoka, Alberta, Canada and her schooling was at Manson, Washington. Then on March 16, 1936 she married William H. Course, Sr. After a short stay at Port Orchard , WA they moved to the Greater Wenatchee Valley in 1944. They lived at the Old Northwest Wholesale sawmill at Malaga where Bill Sr. was the millwright. In June of 1961 they moved to Crawford Avenue, Wenatchee where she has resided since. She married Jay E. Van De Mark on August 29. 1982. She was very active in Community Service work, Malaga PTA, Malaga Apple Blossom floats, the Grange, 4-H, Civil Defense as a Licensed Radio Operator, and for many years she made and taught various crafts through out North Central Washinton. She was in "Who's Who in Washington" in 1961.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sister, Violet Tuning of Kamiah, Idaho, Ivy Gehrke of Ponoka, Alberta, Canada, two brothers Eugene of Asotin, and Lauren Gehrke of Grand Coulee, WA.
A memorial service will be held at the Grace Bible Fellowship Church on Thursday April 29, 2004. Private
interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park, East Wenatchee, WA at a later date.

D. Wayne Piersall died Jan. 5, 2007, in Newberg, OR at the age of 80. He was born to Nora (Emry) and Dewey Piersall in Lincoln, NE on July 11, 1926.  Wayne served in the United States Navy during the years of 1944 to 1946.  He married Willa Corine Hirst in Greenleaf, ID in December 1946.  He graduated from George Fox College in Oregon in 1951.
After the death of his first wife in 1998, he married Norma Beebe, of Eugene, OR in 1999; until her death in 2003. In 2005 he married Evelyn Withrow of Newberg, OR.
While Wayne worked for the US Postal Service for 27 years and volunteered as a firefighter and in the Chamber of Commerce, his love was for the church and his family. He served as pastor to many churches in the Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends for over 56 years.  His hobbies and free time centered around his love of family, friends, ministry, and the outdoors.  He has left a lasting legacy for the following generations and will be missed greatly.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; son, Don Piersall; daughters Sharyl Peterson and husband, Vic; Dreana Purington and husband Kerry; Janice Carney and husband Steve. Also surviving are sisters Wilma Camilleri and Doris Parker and husband Dewey, 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; as well as members of the Beebe and Withrow families.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Willa, of 52 years; wife Norma (Beebe), his parents and two brothers; Samuel and Jerry Piersall.
A memorial service is at Newberg Friends Church on Jan. 10th. There is also a memorial service on Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Meridian Friends Church, graveside services are at the Greenleaf Cemetery. A viewing at Accent Funeral Home, Meridian, Jan. 11, 2007.
