Obituary for Theodore Tuning
Theo was born January 14, 1910 to John and Martha (Pressnall) Tuning at Norden, Nebraska. Theo went
to be with his Lord on May 2, 1999, at the age of 89 years 3months and 18 days at the home of his daughter
Virginia in Phoenix, Arizona.
He moved with his parents to Greenleaf, Idaho in February 1922. He attended school at Greenleaf and
graduated from the Friends Academy.
On December 24, 1932 he married Donna June Earnest Dunbar at Greenleaf, Idaho. To this union were
born 6 children: John, Virginia, Martha, David, Annetta, and Ruth. Martha and Ruth both died in infancy.
Donna proceeded him in death June 22, 1986.
Theo lived at Southwick, Idaho for a time and returned to Greenleaf where he worked for the Canyon
County Highway Department. He then moved to Vale, Oregon where he also worked for the County Highway
Department. From there they move to Cambridge, Idaho and he worked on a rock crusher. They then retired to
Middleton, Idaho and he stayed active as a part time watchman for Rambo Sand and Gravel.
While at Cambridge he was a part time Pastor at Indian Valley Sunday School. He was raised in a Christian
household and lived a life of Christian Endeavor.
He is survived by 2 sons, John and wife Carol of Roosevelt, Utah, David and wife Linda of Phoenix,
Oregon, 2 daughters, Virginia and Neal Stanfield of Cottonwood, Arizona, and Annetta Ryan of Everett,
Washington. 1 sister Bethel Cronrath of Nampa, Idaho, 9 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.
Numerous Nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his wife Donna of 54 years, 2 infant daughters, 1 grandson, and 2
granddaughters, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Services for Donna J. Tuning, 72 of Middleton, who died Sunday, June 22, 1986, in the Caldwell hospital
of natural causes, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, with Dr. Frank Powell
of the Canyon Hill Church of the Nazarene, Caldwell, and Pastor Steve Fine of the Caldwell Friends Church
officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mrs. Tuning, a homemaker, was born July 26, 1913, at Hagerman. She came to Caldwell in 1925 at the age
of 12.
She married Theodore Tuning on December 24, 1932, at Greenleaf. They lived at Greenleaf until 1949
when they moved to Vale, Oregon, where they lived for seven years.
They returned to Idaho in 1956 and had resided in Middleton since 1977. She was a member of the
Caldwell Friends Church.
She is survived by her husband of Middleton; two daughters, Virginia Stanfield of Nampa, and Annetta
Ryan of Middleton; two sons, John Tuning of Anchorage, Alaska, and David Tuning of Boise; three sisters,
Bernice Lippy of Kirbyville, Mo. Ruth Wickersham of Vale, Ore. and Francis Pedersen of Orofino, Idaho; 11
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, a brother and seven sisters.
