Harold L. Hansen, age 53, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2003, at his home in Fillmore, Utah. He was born November 30, 1949, in American Fork, Utah, to Reuben W. and E. Louise Hansen. He excelled at athletics during his school years, and later played minor league baseball overseas, after high school. He served two terms in the military during both the Vietnam War and Desert Storm and was honorably discharged from the military both times. He loved his family dearly. He always put them first in everything that he did. He was always taking his family on camping or fishing trips in his spare time. He was a lover of the outdoors, and many times you could find him with his fishing pole on a stream. He also had a passion for music. He spent many years of his life playing the guitar and singing in bands with his friends or just with his kids at home. He was a person who always loved to give advice, but was always willing to listen, too. He loved to help other people and was always willing to give an extra hand. He resided most of his life in his home town of American Fork, and then in Fillmore, Utah, for the last six years. He married Lucy Herrera in 1976, and later divorced. He is the father of six children. He is survived by his father of American Fork; sons: Bryan (Jeni) of Eagle Mountain, Utah; Nathan of Alpine, Utah; Jeff of Utah; daughters: Rhonda of Alpine, Utah; Shauna of American Fork, Utah; Angie of Utah; grandchildren: Trae Hansen and Deyonte Dennis; brothers: Bruce and Richard Hansen; sister: Carol Billings; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 6th, at 11 a.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 North, American Fork, where friends may call on Monday from 6-8 p.m., and Tuesday, one hour prior to services. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the American Fork Cemetery. All who wish to pay their respects may attend. This story appeared in The Daily Herald on page A7.
