Newell Mike Nielsen
Newell (Mike) Nielsen 02/06/40 ~ 05/16/04 Mike, 64, passed away unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism on Sunday, May 16th 2004.Mike was born February 6th 1940 in Moroni Utah to Newell (Chick) and Katherine Nielsen. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany. He married KarenNielson on March 17, 1962. Mike is survived by his loving wife Karen, son Shawn (Jeri) Nielsen, Sandy Utah, daughter Kristy (Dale) Taylor, Lindon Utah, brother, Larry Justesen, Rupert, Idaho, sisters Luetta (Don) Watts, Taylorsville Utah, Pat Holmes, Salt Lake City, Utah. He is survived by 12 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Newell (Chick), Kathryn, and son, Kerry Nielsen. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids individually nicknaming all of them. Mike loved the outdoors such as camping, boating, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and ATVing, passing this love onto his children and grandchildren. He will be VERY missed! Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Cleveland (Utah) 2nd Ward Chapel, 355 West 100 North at 1:00 p.m. Viewing one hour prior to services. Kent Lynn Jarrett 1946 ~ 2003
Kent Lynn Jarrett, 56, of South Jordan, returned home on Sunday, November 9, 2003. He was born November 20, 1946 in Payson, Utah to Robert Ronald and Ellen Burnette Olpin Jarrett. He married Iris Joyce Nielson on September 12, 1969 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Kent grew up in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School in 1965. He served an LDS Mission to New Zealand. He graduated from BYU and received degrees in computer science and accounting. Kent's favorite things in life were travel, missionary work, and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Iris; seven children: Chad (Youngsook) Jarrett, West Valley; Shane (Megan) Jarrett, South Jordan; Chartina (Orin) Voorheis, Pleasant Grove; Shaunna Jarrett, Salt Lake; Cameron (Jill) Jarrett, Riverton; Cody Jarrett, Provo; and Shelly (Stephen) Emero, Saratoga Springs and nine grandchildren. Additional survivors include eight siblings: Melva Openshaw, William Jarrett, Thayne Jarrett, Elmo Jarrett, Dee Jarrett, Robert Jarrett, Carl Jarrett, and Elda Martell. His brother, Maurice, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Glenmoor Fifth Ward Chapel, 4881 West Cindy Lane (9610 South), South Jordan. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church and on Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
