from Virginia...David served as a private in Nathan Reid's Company, 14
and 10 Virginia Regiment. Muster rolls show he enlisted 1 September 1777
and was last mentioned November 1779. According to family tradition, he
served under George Washington. Muster rolls for March, April, and May
1778 place David McGee at Valley Forge."

Tennessee and finally settled in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama in 1819. He
settled in the North River area of Tuscaloosa County....Hisland included
Section 6, Twp 205, Range 9W for 79 acres purchased 15 Nov 1830.
Purchases of land were made from the US Government in 1824, 1834, and
1852....He is mentioned as having purchased a slave from his deceased
wife's heirs in a Greene County record dated 17 November 1823. The
property is now part of the Monroe Sexton farm joining Lake Tuscaloosa."

fearful odds, and amid such dreadful privations. The widow whom he leaves
behind to mourn his death was his sixth wife. He lies vuried by the side
of three of his wives. Peace be to hisashes. Communicated. His body was
interred Tuscaloosa Co., Ala.
