Gabriel (Dock) Osborn KEY

Gabriel (called Dock) was the administrator of his dad's estate, owned a mill, was an ordained minister and was co-owner of a tobacco business.  Receipt forms with the printed heading "Key and Denny Mfg. All Grades Chewing Tobacco" were found in the estate records of his brother Lewis.  His grandson, Lawrence Key, told the story of Dock taking part in an all night preaching when he was due to serve on the jury in Dobson at 9:00 a.m. the following morning.  He rode a mule six miles in 30 minutes but found himself to have been already counted late and penalized $25.  However, the judge excused him with the statement "Would be to God there were more men who were able to use an all night revival as an excuse for being late for jury duty".
