Robin rented land and employed 83 workers in 1920. He lost the family fortune in October 29, 1929 in the  Stock Market Crash, He left the family and disappeared for about twenty years. He was living in peoria, Illinois and working on the assembly line at the Caterpiller Factory. He was married again to Rose.
