He seved on the faculty at Iowa Stae University from1914 to 1917 when he became an executive in Portland Cement Ass'n in Chicago till 1960 . He received much recognition  for orginal writing and work with concrete products and Agricultural training; was president of American Society of Augircultural Enginees 1929 to 1930 awarded the Cyrus Hall McCormick Medal in 1946.
