Originally published in the "Irvine Times" on September 22, 1933 and reprinted in the ECHGS newsletters, Mrs. Armina Tipton, aged 88 years and 10 months, died at her home at Pitts (Estill county) last Saturday morning at 5:00 A. M. She was the widow of the late Simp. Tipton who preceded her in death 26 years ago.
She is survived by seven sons and two daughters: Andrew J. Tipton, Irvine; John Simp., William Nelson and Claude Tipton, all of Pitts( Estill County); Elihu Tipton, Furnace (Estill County); Dillard Tipton, Beattyville; and Millard Tipton, Union Hall (Estill County); Mrs. Call Abney, Pitts, and Mrs. Robert Blanton, Winchester, Kentucky.

From Letters of French TiptonNINUS P., the next oldest, born 1809, lives in Montgomery County. Nearly helpless, and the only one of the 18 alive. He has three sons living--- Dr. Waller practicing in Wolfe County, wife and several
children, Baptist. James D., living in Mt. Sterling, a farmer, wife but no children. Sam died a bachelor.His parents came from Maryland to Tennessee, then back to Maryland, then back to Kentucky.
