In 1960 Charles lived in Derby, Sedgwick Co., Kansas.After Charles retired he and is wife Kathleen went to tour Australia. During the tour they visited an open pit mine and he picked up a virus along with 13 other people all of whom died with the virus. Kathleen had to have him cremated to bring them home and that took about 3 months.
Charles was a Chief Machines Mate in the Navy and served in WW2.
