"George Shuck and Eve Shuck of the County of Bullitt and John Shuck, Philip
Shuck, Daniel Wenner (Venner) and Rosamond his wife of the County of Washington
and the State of Kentucky..." sold to Christopher Shuck of the county of
Washington, State of Kentucky, for the sum of $150 pounds land "lying and being
in the County of Washington and on the waters of Hardins Creek" which was part
of the estate left to them as heirs of the estate of their father, Johannes

George Shuck came to Harrison County, IN, from Washington Co., KY in ...1811...
and settled on Buck Creek near its mouth on the Ohio River. People began moving
in near him and settling (so) it became too crowded to suite him and he moved on
up Buck Creek to a location two miles east of where New Middleton is now and
settled on two hundred and Forty acres of land on both sides of Buck Creek. He
put up a water mill to grind feed and make flour. It is not known if he also had
a sawmill but it is possible that he did. (Note: In his will dated 30 Oct 1848,
George mentioned both a sawmill and a grist mill.) The location where he lived
was only a mile and a half from where the Rupps lived and I never heard his name

George Shuck entered land in 1817 in Webster Township, Harrison co., Indiana

George Shuck wrote his last will and Testament wherein he left his estate to his
"beloved wife Catharine", his "son-in-law John Ham in trust for the use of my
daughter Polly Shafer", his "daughter Sally Shafer", his "daughter Lana", his
"daughter Nancy", his daughter Susana", his grandson William Shuck" (who will be
21 years old on the 27th day of February 1867")... and Grandson George Frederick
Shuck: (Who will be 21 years old on the 11th day of November 1868"), his
"son-in-law Richard Thompson" who he assigned guardian of his two grandsons,
William & George Frederick Shuck, his "daughter Elizabeth Ham" , and his
"daughter Catharine Thompson". He appointed his son-in -law, John Ham, executor

George Shuck's probate records are on file in the Harrison County Court House,
Box 73 & Box 79 (Guardianship-Nancy Shuck).
